Melanie (Mela) Brod Erlich
Mela - my grandmother
The Brods came from Sarajevo, Yugoslavia (now Bosnia/Herzegovina) and from Prague. Melanie (Mela) had a brother, Ernst, who married Lily and lived in Michigan, both of whom I never met. Grandma and I had very little relationship. She was born on February 5, 1894 and died at 72 on September 18, 1967.

Needlework: Embroidered Hankerchiefs
Grandma was very handy with a needle. Most notably, she embroidered hankerchiefs, some of which I've framed. I am displaying these at the Monroe Township, NJ Public Library in May/June 2024.
